Tried and true, the Victorian Cavalier Aerospace
Fighter has been in use for years now, but it has yet to become outdated.
Victory is known to have the most dependable fighters of any military on
Terra Nova. The Cavalier's design was well-done when first developed, and
thus it has lasted through the years.
The fighter is armed with a wide array of weapons, including a pair of
medium laser cannons, two solid-ammunition machine guns, and two different
kinds of missiles: air-to-air and air-to-surface. This makes it useful in
nearly any situation. It is also very powerful in space. The fighter is
usually even equipped with its own Interstellar Drive engines.
Ryan really worked hard on this ship. He took a while to get the wing
shape he wanted, but unfortunately they're a bit unstable.
He also worked hard to make sure the pilot could easily open the cockpit
and get out (without taking the whole top of the fighter off) but
unfortunately forgot to take a picture of it. Heh.
To compensate for the weight of the craft, it has very powerful landing
gear.
Here we see how nicely the landing gear can fold up, despite their size.
The top of the fighter can be removed, revealing the interior. The pilot
has a pretty comfortable amount of room.
The ship's powerful engines are one of its main advantages. Despite its
size and weight, it is still very maneuverable. Many of the engine
components are right behind the pilot.
... After all, the pilot needs something to bang on when the ship fails to
make the jump to lightspeed.
