The Victorian army... a force to be reckoned with.
Though they are often referred to by politicians as the "Victorian Defense
Forces," the Victorian military is quite capable of going on the offensive
as well.
Led by Grand General Rick Radcliff, the Victorian army is a worthy
opponent for Mars's forces on the side of Xarkon. Rick has a long and
distinguished career as a military leader.
Though they carry rifles almost identical to the standard armaments of the
Xarkon infantry, Victorian soldiers wear armor that is in many ways more
protective than Xarkon's.
Here we see the Victorian demolitions expert and scout/sniper. Instead of
training special snipers and scouts like Xarkon, Victory saw the advantage
of combining the two units. Thus their snipers have a scout's survival
skills and independence.
The Victorian demolition expert is carrying one of Victory's
specially-designed weapons. Seeing the devastation caused by the Firestorm
Cannon, a standard walker-mounted weapon, Victorian scientists developed a
smaller, handheld version. This weapon is something like a flamethrower,
but is more powerful and long-range. In addition to getting to use big,
kick-butt guns like this, the demo expert also disables enemy bombs and
such. If you see him running, you'd better try to catch up.
The Victorian medics.
Victorian officers. Major officers wear dark blue uniforms, while minor
officers wear white.
The Victorian Pilots' chest decals didn't
come out quite right here. The outlines Ryan drew weren't dark enough and
didn't show up well when printed. I have since FIXED this error. Don't
worry; if you order some from the decal shop they'll look better than
these.
Would a pilot be a pilot without a life-support system, a bunch of hoses,
and a communicator on the side of his face? I think not!
The primary difference between the standard Victorian soldier and their
superior officers (the squad commanders) is the helmet visor, which is
much larger and more reflective. They also carry more equipment and
different side-arms, and a gem is mounted in their chest armor. More than
your average soldier, the squad commanders are trained in advanced forms
of combat, and even medical skills for when a medic is unavailable.
I know you're looking at the reflection in the squad leaders' visors,
aren't you? Yeah, yeah, I thought so.
And now we end this whirlwind tour of the Victorian infantry units with
this picture of a pair of stalwart Victorian defenders, ready to die for
their country or make the other... fellow... die for his!
