The Fox is Xarkon's smallest walker, only recently developed as a
prototype. The biggest innovation on this model is its powerful "Fox Ear
Detector Dish" (FEDD), which gives the walker an unprecedented range with
radar and other detection tools, making it an invaluable tool for
reconnaissance and scouting.
The walker also features a powerful new
computer-controlled balance system, called "Turbo-Recovery" for its quick
ability to get back on its feet if it is knocked over. This allows for
fantastic agility, though attempts to make it able to "hop" on one leg
after the other is destroyed have been unsuccessful thus far.
Armed with two anti-infantry machine guns and two
medium pulse lasers, the Fox can hold its own in a firefight against most
vehicles... at least long enough to get away, that is. Its most powerful
weapon is its long-range missile rack, which, when combined with the FEDD,
make it deadly at a distance.
The walker is able to position itself in a variety of
poses, either computer-programmable or controllable by a very skilled
walker pilot (particularly if he is using the mind-link control
technique).
The Fox's sleek profile and wing-like protrusions also
give it fantastic flight ability well beyond that of heavier walkers,
especially with its powerful "Starburst" booster engine. The designers
attempted to give it full flight capability, but they found it impossible
and instead went for merely an extended jump-glide maneuver, which it
performs quite well.
The speed of the Fox, with its long stride, is easily
equal to that of the Hornet hoverbike. This only increases its usefulness
as a recon vehicle, and serves to decrease that of the Hornet.
An observer may take note of the Fox's unusually wide feet. These were
designed for balance, adding even more to the walker's stability...
...and its ability to squash things. After all, a
walker without the ability to squash things is like a fighter without the
ability to fly! Well, almost.
Some of the more macho Xarkon
walker pilots dislike the Fox for its "cute," animal-like design. Who
knows what they will call this test pilot when he gets back to base?
The Fox beside the Manegarm.
Compared with the Jackal and other tried-and-true Xarkon military walkers,
these two are actually the newest members of the pack. By the way, these
two LEGO models are not actually to scale. The 'garm should be
considerably larger.
Don't... mess... with my... kid!
